Alt+E, N will take you to Firefox’s preferences menu. (In FF > 20, you may have to use Tools – Options on some platforms)

Then navigate to the “Advanced” section and press Alt+X (you can use the arrow keys to get to “advanced”)

Then press Alt+F4 to close that window. The enables find as you type, which is a great tool to use in Firefox.

Here’s an example of the usage: Google “Finding Nemo”. (CTRL+K, “finding nemo”, Alt+Enter)

Just type “2003″ within Google, and the first link with 2003 will be selected. You can then go to the link with enter or CTRL+Enter for a new tab.
