One of the first posts on this site was about Alt+D and the address bar – when you’re in the address bar in IE or Firefox, just press F4 and the menu will drop down and you’ll see previously typed addresses.

Surfing another site and want to hit your “home” site?
Don’t click the house icon, just press Alt+Home. It will take you to your browser’s “Home” page.
(For those of you using a Mac the equivalent would be Option+Home or if you’re on a Mac laptop/notebook/preferred nomenclature it would be Option ⌥ +Fn+<-Home “thats the left arrow/home key for those of you in the audience confused by that last part”.)

From the Firefox Address Bar there’s a gem to be unlocked.
* Type “yahoo” and press CTRL+Enter you will be taken to http://www.yahoo.com (this also works in IE)
* Type “yahoo” and press CTRL+SHIFT+Enter and you’ll be taken to http://www.yahoo.org
* Type “yahoo” and press SHIFT+Enter and you’ll be taken to http://www.yahoo.net
Exchange “yahoo” for any site you’re wanting to visit. My favorite? Typing “bofe” and then pressing CTRL+SHIFT+Enter.

You’ll soon start noticing that adding the SHIFT key onto any shortcut usually does the inverse. If CTRL+TAB moves us from left to right in our tabs, then CTRL+SHIFT+TAB will move us from right to left.
This works in almost any Windows application that uses tabs. Including those places in the Control Panel like “Display Settings”.
Note, it does not work in gAIM. You’ve gotta use CTRL+PageUp and CTRL+PageDown for gAIM tabs. Stupid gAIM.

Need to clear everything out? CTRL+A followed by a backspace or delete.
