Keyboard shortcuts are any keyboard way of accomplishing a task that ordinarily required a mouse.

They aren’t always a combination of keys pressed – they can also be a sequence of keystrokes.

I’ll be using two types of notation: Commas (,) and Pluses (+).

An example of using Pluses:

X+Y would literally mean:

Press and hold the *X* key, while holding the *X* key, press the *Y* key and action will happen.

An example of using Commas:

X, Y, Z would literally mean:

Press and release *X*, then press and release *Y*, and finally press and release *Z* and action will happen.

Finally, a combination of plusses and commas can happen:

X, Y, Z+B would literally mean:

Press and release *X*, then press and release *Y*, and finally press and hold *Z* — while holding *Z* press the *B* key and action will happen
